Introduction
I am by no means a (professional) critic but I'm really starting to enjoy writing these. Whenever I write a critique I discuss each of the four points that make up the rating and I'm always trying to help the artist improve (if I can).

The Critique
  • Vision
If the vision behind this piece were simply to draw an existing OC (original character) for someone, I'd have to deduct points for that but obviously another important goal was to capture this Hedgehog's character and attitude with only little means.

  • Originality
While the pose is somewhat simple, which is the reason I had to deduct here, the simple and somewhat abstract background that forces the focus on only the character, as well as the frame make up for that. Plus I am tempted to give extra points for the awesome copyright barcode <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/>

  • Technique
I can't possibly give less than five full stars for the technique on this. The lineart is very clean, the colors as vivid as can be, the fake depth of field effect is simple yet convincing, the lights are nicely reflected on the character and the drawing style and the proportions are very, very true to Sonic's original style, while surpassing it in the level of detail. Looking at this picture one could think it's a new official character from the Sonic universe. Also the way her mouth and eye was drawn reflects much of her attitude despite the simple pose. Surely a picture anthro-fans can fall in love with.

  • Impact
Much of what I've just described in the above section is part of the heavy impact this image has on the viewer. The colors are very powerful as is her expression. That combined with the excellent Sonic-drawing-style makes it perfect. I had clicked the thumbnail of this before I'd even realised it. Awesome!

The Conclusion
This time I don't think I could help the artist improve at all but positive feedback that basically says »Keep it up« can be auxiliary sometimes, too, right?
Also it was really a fun experience writing about this piece of art, so I'd like to thank the artist for that opportunity.
